I don't mind being overshadowed by Aishwarya: Abhishek
Abhishek Bachchan, who is all geared up for the release of Drona this week, says he doesn't mind being overshadowed by his wife Aishwarya Rai.
At this year's Cannes Film Festival attended by him and his wife, Abhishek was repeatedly asked how it felt to be overshadowed by his wife.
"Although the intention behind such questions is obviously not honourable, I don't get rattled at all. It's a pleasure to be overshadowed by the most beautiful woman in the world. I had a ball doing the Unforgettable' concerts with Aishwarya," Abhishek said.
After Guru, the actor is teaming up with his wife once again for Mani Ratnam's next film.
"I know I'll have a great time shooting Mani Ratnam's film with her. Right now I'm looking forward to her return from Brazil," he said.
Aishwayra was in Brazil shooting for Shankar's Robot. Abhishek said he was looking forward to Aishwarya's presence at the premiere of Drona.
"It sounds very romantic to say my wife is flying down especially to be at my film's premiere. But sadly, it is not true. Her schedule for Shankar's Robot was supposed to wrap up a week before the premiere, and it did. So she was going to be in Mumbai for the Drona premiere anyway.
"Having said this, let me add, she'd have come back to Mumbai for the occasion from any part of the world even if she was shooting."
Aishwarya was recently in Paris to shoot the latest L'Oreal ad. Both her in-laws, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, were also there, but they couldn't meet her.
"Yes, they were there. Unfortunately, ma and pa left a day before Aishwarya arrived in Paris. Pa had to be back to shoot a television programme to promote the 'Unforgettable' concerts in India."
"The 'Unforgettable' concerts are now going to be staged in India, beginning with Mumbai.
"We're in the process of working out the venues and dates. There'll be more time for all this once Drona is released,"said Abhishek.
Directed by Goldie Behl, Drona also stars Priyanka Chopra and Kay Kay Menon.

Cannes continue to dazzle - Ash and Abhi
Cannes celebrated its 60th birthday on Wednesday by inviting a screen newcomer to open the film festival: the singer Norah Jones, who plays a heartbroken lover opposite Jude Law in director Wong Kar-wai's "My Blueberry Nights".
Meanwhile, a string of films, which bring together many of the biggest names from the world of movies are set for their premieres.
Movies on Cannes' line up range from "Ocean's Thirteen" to Michael Moore's "Sicko", and films from Russia to Mexico and South Korea.
Norah Jones wore a strapless midnight blue number for the occasion, while Jude Law and Wong Kar-wai just wore the mandatory dark glasses, as they climbed the red carpet together. The Hong Kong director Wong is a Cannes favorite, and "My Blueberry Nights" is his first English-language movie.
Norah Jones stars as a New Yorker who hits the road on a curative cross-country trip after being dumped by her boyfriend. The film won warm praise from the critics at the preview a few hours before it officially opened the festival.
Wong Kai-wai said, "One of the reasons I wanted to make the film in the United States at that point was because I wanted to work with Norah, and I think this story is a very good story for Norah, so I think while it will be interesting to make the film in English, and shot in New York because she's based in New York and because of her schedule at that time, we thought well, this is something that we can do together." The festival is also due to enjoy Jake Gyllenhaal's latest film "Zodiac".
Directed by David Fincher, it is based the tale of a real-life serial killer, who went on a killing spree in the 1960's and 70's, while taunting police with letters, clues and cryptograms.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays Robert Graysmith, a cartoonist for the Chronicle who has the knack of figuring out the serial killer's puzzles. The real Zodiac killer was never caught.
Also joining the fray is Angelina Jolie with her latest project "A Mighty Heart". In it Jolie plays Mariane, the wife of US journalist Daniel Pearl. Pearl was abducted and murdered in Karachi, Pakistan in 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militancy.
"A Mighty Heart" is an adapted from Mariane Pearl's book, "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl."

'Nobody can replace Aishwarya'
'Nobody can replace Aishwarya'
Cutting down speculation that Aishwarya Rai is having "second thoughts" about doing Sarkar 2, Ram Gopal Varma gives detail on his "first sequel ever".
The film which starts shooting in June 2007 has already acquired the stars' dates. "Amitji, Abhishek and Aishwarya have confirmed their dates. There's no question of Aishwarya having second thoughts.
She has heard her role and then consented. She plays a very very strong character, far more so than the woman in the first part of Sarkar.
You could say, Aishwarya is as much a part of the central drama as the Bachchans. I went to her because I needed a leading lady of her stature. I wouldn't waste my time and hers offering her a role that anyone else could do."
Written by Abbas Tyrewala Sarkar 2 carries the story of the desi Corleone family forward.
Laughs Ramu, "But you must understand Sarkar 2 won't be akin to Godfather 2 in the sense that it won't have the son taking over the family business from the father.
Amitji will continue to be a powerful force in the drama. I had openly acknowledged my debt to Francis Coppola's Godfather. Sarkar wouldn't have been possible without The Godfather. But Sarkar 2 will owe no debt to Godfather 2."
Elaborating on the plot Ramu says Sarkar 2 will go into the politics of rural Maharashtra and into the power corridors of Delhi.
In this prolonged seasoned of remakes and sequels is Ramu jumping into both bandwagons to be fashionably marketable.
"For your information Sarkar 2 was conceived with Amitji and Abhishek even when Sarkar was being made. Finally the audience doesn't care where a film comes from.
If Lage Raho Munnabhai has done well it's not because it's a sequel. But because it's a terrific entertainer.
I don't want audiences to come to see Sarkar 2 only because they liked the earlier film."
